Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur today inaugurated the State level Nalwar Fair of Sundernagar. Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that he had dedicated and laid foundation stone of projects worth Rs. 25.12 crore at Sundernagar today.Shri Jai Ram Thakur said that fairs and festivals were essential for preservation and conservation of our rich cultural heritage of the State. He said that  Sundernagar fair was being celebrated with traditional fervour for the last 500 years and credit of this goes to the tradition loving peope of the area.He said that during the tenure of the present State Govenment, the pace of development had been acclerated and the government had proposed a forward looking and welfare and development oriented budget for the financial year 2018-19.He said that even the Opposition could not find any fault in the budget. He said that the present State governmnet was committed for the welfare of the weaker sections of the society.He assured the people to provide adequate parking facility in Sundernagar town. He announced opening of PWD Sub Divison at Kangoo for ensuring timely construction of Slaper-Tatapani road. This Rs 220 crore project has been sent for the Centre for approval.He announced Science classes at GSS School Maloh, Rs. 5 crore for degree college Dehar. He sanctioned ITI for Nihri and announced enhancement of Nazrana of dieties by 20 per cent.He announced State level status to Devta Mela of Sundernagar.He also released  Mela Souviner on the occasion. 

Earlier, he participated in ‘Pagari’ ceremony and Pooja Archna at Nagaun Khad and presided over the Dev Naad function where 800 ‘Bajantries’ of 100 dieties of the region performed on the occasion.The Chief Minister released souvenir “Dev Dhara’ brought out by Suket Sarv Devta Samiti and also launched the App “Suket Devta Fair’  on the occasion.Chief Minster was presented a cheque of Rs. 1.51 lakh by K.K.Saklani on behalf of specially abled employees, Rs. 51,000 by Truck Union Dhanotu, Rs. 11,000 each by the Suket Cine Cooperative Society and Bias new guest house towards CM Relief Fund..MP Shri Ram Sawroop Sharma said that the people of Mandi district have great expectations from Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur. He said that Medical College comming up at Ner Chowk would prove a major institution for providing health services to the people of the region. He also appreciated the developmental efforts of the local MLA of the region.Shri Rakesh Jamwal, local MLA said the people of the Mandi district were honoured to have Shri Jai Ram Thakur as Chief Minister of the State. He said that Sundernagar was one of the most beautiful towns of the State. He thanked the CM for dedicating schemes worth crores of crore of Rupees in his constituency.Present on the occasion were Education Minister Shri Suresh Bhardwaj,   MLAs Shri Vinod Kumar, Col. Inder Singh, Shri Hiralal, Shri Inder Gandhi and Shri Jawahar Singh Thakur, Former Minister Thakur Roop Singh, Chairperson State Child Welfare Council Smt Payal Vaidya,Chaiperson Nagar Prishad Ms. Poonan Sharma, OSD Shri Shishu Dharma.
