Jai Ram Thakur participates in cultural function of Sirmaur Students Welfare Association

Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while presiding over the annual cultural  function ‘Jaighosh-2018'  organised by  the Sirmaur Students Welfare Association at Gaiety Theatre here today said that such  functions not only  helps building  camaraderie but also in inculcating sense of preservation of the rich customs and culture.He said it was duty of all to conserve the age old traditions and culture so as to aware the coming generations about the rich cultural legacy of the state.While appreciating the cultural extravaganza, the Chief Minister said that Himachal Pradesh was a home to different cultures which differ from state to state and had made a mark worldwide and we should be proud of it. He said we have to keep live our traditions and no matter wherever we go, we should not forget our customs and traditions.He announced a sum of Rs. 21,000 from his discretionary fund for the Association for promotion of the cultural activities. He also danced to the tunes of folk music along with Speaker Vidhan Sabha Dr. Rajiv Bindal.He also accepted the invitation of Dr. Bindal to visit Sirmaur district after the Vidhan Sabha session.Dr. Bindal thanked the Chief Minister for sparing his time for the function. Earlier, Chairman of the Association Kishan Chauhan and President of Jaipal Shivta welcomed and honoured the Chief Minister and other distinguished guests on the occasion.MLA, Pachhad Suresh Kashyap announced Rs. 11,000 to the Association from his discretionary fund.Folk singer Dilip Sirmauri mesmerised the audience with his folklore’s and Sirmauri Nati.District Sirmaur Youth BJP President Kuldeep Rana, General Secretary Pradeep Thakur were also present on the occasion amongst others.
