MLA Chenani launches blacktopping work on Johnu- Dhalpar road

MLA Chenani, Dina Nath Bhagat today launched blacktopping work on 3-km Johnu-Dhalpar road stretch in Chenani Constituency involving an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh under NABARD.Addressing the people on the occasion, Mr Bhagat said that it was a long pending demand of the people of the area and with the completion of this work, dozens of villages in the vicinity would get better road connectivity. The blacktopping work on Kattal-Johnu and Dhalpar-Chompal nallah stretches has already been completed and the connectivity has improved considerably in the area, said Mr. Bhagat.The MLA said that several development activities being carried-out under R&B and other sectors in Constituency, adding that the work of blacktopping and macadamization on various road projects in the constituency has been taken into hand and some of them is nearing completion.Referring to up-gradation of 14-km Udhampur-Ghordi double lane and Basant Garh-Khenad road which has been taken up under Central Road Fund (CRF) and PMGSY, the MLA said that it would improve road connectivity to district, besides open new vistas of commercial activities in the area. The Detailed Project Reports of various important road projects have been submitted to concerned quarters for approval and funding, the MLA said and added that the Union Government headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been providing liberal funding for development to ensure provision of improved basic facilities to people of the State especially living in hilly and far-off areas.
