VC JU meets Governor

Prof. R.D. Sharma, Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, called on Governor N.N. Vohra, Chancellor of the University, at the Raj Bhavan here today.Governor complimented Prof. Sharma and his colleagues for the successful organization of 17th  Convocation of the University which was held yesterday.Prof. Sharma briefed the Governor about several important issues relating to the University’s functioning, which included the urgent need to create permanent posts for teaching and non-teaching staff for the  5 off-site campuses of Kishtwar, Poonch, Udhampur, Ramnagar and Reasi and the requirement of funds for completion of buildings in the off-site campuses to make them operational.Governor advised the VC to urgently put in place an online system for securing the requisite feedback from students for undertaking a qualitative assessment of the teaching faculty and convening of a meeting of Joint Committee of both Universities to finalize the seniority list of teaching Faculty.
