Congress candidate from Sangrur Parliamentary Constituency area Vijay Inder Singla, who is seeking re-election from this constituency for the second term today reiterated that he is seeking re-election and going to the voters in the area on the basis of the developmental works undertaken by him during his last five year term and so ‘Vikas’ is the main poll plank. He stated that Sangrur region has been neglected over decades and no attention was given to bringing ‘big ticket’ projects to this area by earlier political representatives.

While addressing a large number of poll related meeting's today in the villages falling under the Dhuri assembly segment area of this Lok Sabha seat he said that SAD-BJP unholy alliance has no constructive agenda and can only make tall claims by holding investor summits. He stated that people cannot be fooled by publicity gimmicks and are fed up of the high handed attitude of Akalis in the state. Under the Akali – SAD seven year government the economy has come to a standstill and the debt has crossed 1 lakh crore rupees. Today, he stated there is no money to pay salaries and pensions on time and questioned that a Government which cannot take care of its employees cannot take care of its citizens also. The situation is so alarming that even Govt. properties are being put on sale.

Hitting hard against the alliance, he further said that cartels have been created in Punjab with vested interests and mafia is calling the shots in Punjab whether drug mafia or sand mafia or liquor mafia. Every section of the society is feeling crushed and Akalis are appeasing the business lobby through ‘rahat’ certificates.Replying to reporters on the issue of Aam Aadmi Party candidate – Bhagwant Mann he stated that AAP candidate from Patiala has himself praised his efforts and work done in Sangrur area. He stated that development work done by him is not in files but for everybody to see and believe unlike foundation stones laid by his opponents.
