Doctor's attitude towards patients a part of 'Kayakalp'- Vipin Parmar

The change in health institutions should not be viewed just in the hygienic perspective, but it should be taken in broader way. However, hygiene was an important part of the 'Kayakalp' and healthy life should have a clean environment, said the Health & Family Welfare, Ayurveda and Science & Technology Minister Shri Vipin Parmar, while presiding over the award function of 'Kayakalp' under National Health Mission at Parimahal near Shimla today.Shri Parmar said that Health Department was providing quality health services in the state, still there was room for improvement and every possible efforts were being made to improve the entire system. He said that State Government had implemented various schemes in health sector to benefit people. He stressed the need for better coordination among departmental officers, doctors and para-medical staff. He said doctors should behave in a better way with patients to uphold the faith of general public in them, which works as a 'Sanjeevani' for patients.Health Minister directed all Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents to make generic medicines available in adequate proportions in hospitals. He said that the Department was working for poor, needy and common man. Generic medicines were essential to the poor for their health benefits. He said that every problem of common man should be solved to realize the dream of New India of the Prime Minister. He directed departmental doctors to monitor '108' and '102' Ambulance Services in different parts of the State.
Parmar said that he himself inspected the hospitals and appreciated the services of staff, but more efforts should be made for improvements in hospitals. He said that everyone should shoulder responsibility for bringing transformation in health care services.The Health Minister said that suggestions were welcomed for the change in the system and best suggestions would be considered in the budget and in formulation of schemes.He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Jai Ram Thakur, there was a positive change in health department and filling up of 200 posts of doctors and para-medical staff were approved recently. After this, the Health Minister presided over the National Child Health Workshop.Earlier, Health Minister distributed Kayakalp awards to various health institutions of the State. Regional Hospital Kullu was given Ist prize, 2nd prize was bagged by Civil Hospital Palampur and 3rd prize went to Civil Hospital Nurpur. Earlier, Special Secretary Health and Director National Health Mission Shri Pankaj Rai welcomed the Health Minister and other dignitaries. He said that this was the first-of–its-kind-affair in the State. He said that Rs.500 crore was spent under National Health Mission this year.State Project Officer Dr. Alka Gupta presented vote of thanks.Director Health Dr. Baldev Thakur, Director Health Safety and Regulatory, Director Medical Education Dr. Ashok Sharma, Chief Medical Officers of all districts, Senior Medical Superintendents and senior officers of Health Fepartment were also present on the occasion.
