Deputy Speaker of Punjab Vidhan Sabha Mr. Ajaib Singh Bhatti has participated in the four day 6th Indian Region Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Conference in Patna (Bihar). He represented the Punjab in this conference.Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of Punjab Government said that the Deputy Speaker presented his views on 'Role of the Parliament in the Development Agenda' during the conference, which was highly applauded by the other delegates. He said that the Deputy Speaker also encouraged the Punjab origin industrialists settled in Patna to invest in Punjab.Spokesman further informed that said that Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan, Lok Sabha Speaker, Mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Union Law and Justice Minister, Mr. Satya Pal Malik, Bihar Governor, Mr. Nitish Kumar, Bihar Chief Minister and Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi, former Union Minister and Member Parliament also participated in this international conference.In addition to these prominent personalities, Speakers and Deputy Speakers from different Assemblies of the country also exchanged their views during this conference.Foreign delegates including Emilia Monjowa Lifaka, Chairperson Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) Executive Committee, Mrs. Robyn Lambley, MLA Northern Territory of Australia and Mr. Akbar Khan, Secretary General CPA also attended the conference, he added.
