Minister for Public Health Engineering & Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today informed the House that three Water Supply Schemes (WSS) in district Pulwama could not be commissioned on time due to cost overrun. He said revised Detailed Project Report (DPR) have now prepared for completion of remaining works of these WSSs to ensure early commissioning.Responding to a Calling Attention Notice by Mohammad Khalil Bandh in the House, the Minister said WSSs including WSS Trich, WSS Mirbagh, Dogam and WSS Gulbugh are being constructed at the cost of Rs 1.84 crore, Rs 2 crore and Rs 2.67 crore respectively under NRDP.

He said owing to the cost overrun the balance works could not be completed. He said work will soon be restarted on these WSSs as the revised DPRs for completing the remaining works have been formulated.Giving details, the Minister said Rapid Sand Filtration plant and part of distribution system of WSSs Trich and  Dohgam could not be completed owing to cost overrun thus delaying its commissioning. He said a DPR of Rs 1.68 crore, Rs 1.50 crore and Rs 2.17 crore has been prepared respectively to complete the remaining works and is under consideration for sponsoring under NABARD Loan Assistance.
