Office of SDM Badnota-Billawar upgraded as ADC Billawar : Naeem Akhtar

Minister for Works (R&B), Mr Naeem Akhtar today informed the Legislative Assembly that as an interim arrangement, the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Badnota/Billawar has been upgraded to the level of Additional Deputy Commissioner Billawar in June 2017 for better supervision and effective public service delivery.“To give the above arrangement a permanent shape, a post of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Billawar has been created by corresponding reduction of the post of Sub-Divisional Magistrate Badnota/Billawar in December 2017 by a Cabinet Decision” he said while replying to a Calling Attention Notice of Mr Jewan Lal tabled “ to call the attention of government towards  the problems being faced by the public of Badnota, Lohai-Malhar, Kindli and Machedi area in obtaining PRCs and office related works.”

The Minister further said that due to the up-gradation of the post of SDM Badnota/Billwar to the level of Additional Deputy Commissioner, Billawar, the work related to the issuance of PRCs and other office related works like land acquisition cases of the public of Badnota, Lohai-Malhar, Kindli and Machhedi is now being looked after by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Billawar whose jurisdiction comprises of three tehsils namely; Billawar, Ramkote and Lohai-Malhar.He said the post of Area Development Officer Badnota, was sanctioned in the year 1978 and re-designated as SDM Badnota in the year 1998. The office of the SDM Badnota used to operate from Billawar and its jurisdiction was extended to the entire area of the Billawar Tehsil from September 2014.
