SMHS Hospital fallout : Jail Superintendent suspended

Jammu and Kashmir government on Thursday suspended Superintendent of Central Jail Srinagar after the escapade of LeT militant from SMHS Hospital in which two cops were killed in a shootout. “Pending enquiry into the incident on 6 February, 2018, at SMHS Hospital, Srinagar, leading to the death of the two constables and escape of a militant, Mr Hilal Ahmed Rather , Superintendent, Central Jail, Srinagar is hereby placed under suspension, with immediate effect,” a government order issued by Home Department’s Principal Secretary RK Goyal said.“The officer shall remain attached with Director General of Police, Prisons, till further order,” the order read.  (CNS)
