FPSs to be established in transparent manner, MLAs to be taken on board : Ch. Zulfkar Ali

Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, & Consumer Affairs and Tribal Affairs, Choudhry Zulfkar Ali today informed the House that the government will ensure transparency while establishing new Fair Price Shops in the state. He assured that the recommendations of the MLAs will be considered while establishing this facilty.The Minister was replying to an issue raised by the various legislators including leader of opposition Omar Abdullah in the Legislative Assembly, today.The Minister informed the House the main aim of the opening of Fair Price Shops in the State was to provide ration to the people at their door steps. He assured the House that the list to be prepared on the same analogy of the notification issued by Ministry of Social Welfare recently according to which the local MLAs will be taken on board while taking any decision.

He further said that the previous list was prepared as per the norms, however, he assured the House that the list to be examined. He said that the circular in this regard will also be issued with the instructions that the MLA to be taken on board while preparing the list of Fair Price Shops.Earlier, Leader of Opposition, Omar Abdullah showed the concern that the Fair Price Shops to be opened on first cum first serve. He demanded for reviewing of the previous list.
