Parivartan-2K18 Commences At CGC With A Strong Message Against Drug Abuse

National Level Fest Sees Students Compete In Technical, Non-Technical And Cultural Categories

PARIVARTAN 2K18 the 12th national techno cultural fest of Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC), Landran commenced with a scintillating display of talent. More than 30,000 students from various schools and colleges across the country are participating in this two-day event. The fest will feature various competitions in technical, non-technical and cultural categories. These include competitions in Web designing, CAD Modelling, Robo soccer, Ad Mad Show, Programming, Quizzes, debates, dance, singing, face painting among a host of others. The theme ‘Walking Down a Drug Free Path’ selected for PARIVARTAN 2K18, seeks to spread awareness against drug-abuse and encourage youth to lead a happy and active lifestyle to avoid getting into the lethal trap of drugs. A unique fashion show on the fest’s theme was the main attraction of Day 1 of PARVARTAN 2K18 while Rock Band Astitva enthralled audience with an electrifying performance. CGC Landran students along with those from all participating educational institutions also took an oath to stay away from drugs and substance abuse. Outstanding alumni of the institution were also felicitated on the occasion in addition to CGC’s student achievers and NCC cadets.Sharing their views on the occasion, Satnam Singh Sandhu, Chairman, CGC Landran and Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, President, CGC Landran said, “PARIVARTAN seeks to infuse a sense of responsibility among students to become harbingers of positive social change. Such events encourage them to channelize their energies and hone their skills eventually helping them become well-rounded, socially responsible citizens taking the nation forward.”In various ongoing competitions, Khalsa Fauja won the first prize in the fashion show on the theme while CGC Landran took the second spot. In the Western Dance performance, Chitkara College won the first prize while DAV Chandigarh stood second. In the Bhangra/Giddha/Ludi on dhol (girls) SD college stood first.The 2nd day of PARIVARTAN 2K18, in addition to technical, non-technical and cultural events, would see live performances by noted Bollywood singer Sonu Kakkar and  Popular Punjabi Singer Harf Cheema at CGC Landran Campus.
