DDC chairs public grievance redressal camp at Uri

District administration Baramulla today convened a public grievance redressal camp at Salamabad Uri with District Development Commissioner Dr Nasir Ahmad Naqash in chair. The camp was aimed to get first-hand appraisal of public grievances and to redress them in a time-bound manner.Joint Director Planning A. G. Malik, SDM Uri Dr. Sagar N Doifode, CMO Baramulla Dr. Bashir Ahmad Chalkoo, Engineers of PHE, Power  Development Department, officers of various departments and  people in large number were present on the occasion.On the occasion, various civil society members and Senior citizens highlighted the main problems of the area wherein they sought proper, effective and timely action of the administration in solving their problems. They demanded improving telecommunication facility in the area adding that the area remains aloof due to poor network connectivity.

The people also demanded major afforestation drive in the area which will help in reducing soil erosion and other environmental hazards besides maintaining the ecological balance. Meanwhile, they also sought macadamization of Shadra-Kamalkoot road and restoration of bus service on it. Moreover, they demanded uninterrupted power and water supply during the scheduled hours.In the education sector, the people expressed concern due to deficiency of staff in various government schools besides highlighting other issues of the people .Meanwhile, the DDC had a patient hearing of the grievances wherein he issued directions to the concerned for their redressal. He stressed upon the officers to provide every basic facility to the people besides directing  them for  disposing  their grievances in a time-bound manner. He said that government has launched various schemes and programmes for the people and they should come forward and avail their benefits.
