Rohit Khajuria kick-starts Pulse Polio Immunization Programme

Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Rohit Khajuria today kick-started Pulse Polio Immunization phase-I programme in the district by administering polio drops to the children here at Govt. Mahatma Gandhi Child and Maternity Hospital Kathua. Speaking on the occasion, Rohit Khajuria said that 95,024 children up to 5 years of age will be administered polio vaccines for which 562 vaccine booths has been established across the district. He further added that as many as 2273 officials are in place to execute this extensive exercise. Besides this 7 mobile teams, 12 transit teams, 112 supervisory Staff, ASHA and anganwadi workers are  also deputed for proper execution and monitoring of the immunization process in the district.The Deputy Commissioner appealed people to come out at vaccine booths to ensure no child shall be left out from this vaccination programme.Pertinent to mention here that three days massive exercise of immunization will comprise vaccination through established vaccine booths on first day followed by  2 days door to door vaccination of the children who are left out or  missed the polio drops dose.On the occasion, CMO Kathua, Deputy CMO, Paramedic staff and large number of people were also present.
