69th Republic Day celebrated At Pulwama

At Pulwama, the 69th Republic Day was celebrated at the District Police Lines, Pulwama with great fervour and enthusiasm where Deputy Commissioner, Ghulam Mohammad Dar unfurled the national flag and took the salute at the march past. Contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, CRPF, Fire and Emergency and School children participated in the march past. SSP Pulwama Mohammad Aslam and other officers of Police and Civil administration were present on the occasion.Scores of people from all the corners of the district attended the Republic Day celebrations.Speaking on the occasion, the Depu ty Commissioner highlighted the importance of Republic Day and threw light on the various developmental activities undergoing in the district and the role played by civil administration and police in maintaining peace and prosperity in the district.Various colourful and mesmerizing cultural programmes were presented by the artists of Information Department and  Youth Services & Sports.The students belonging to the various government institutions who recently passed the class 12th examination with outstanding merit were also felicitated on the occasion.  

The Deputy Commissioner distributed mementoes, trophies, and prizes among the students and contingents who participated in cultural events and March past. The district administration also felicitated the recent KAS 2017 qualifiers belonging to the district. District Information Officer Dr Mohammad Zubair Lattoo and Naseer Ahmad Cameraman Information department were also felicitated on the occasion.Republic Day celebrations were also held at both Sub-Divisions and Tehsil headquarters in the district.At Awantipora ADC Showkat Ahmad Rather hoisted the national flag, and took the salute at the March-Past. On the occasion, ADC Pulwama highlighted the importance of the Republic Day. Officers from Civil Administration, Police and Army were also present at the celebration. At Tral, SDM Reyaz Ahmad hoisted the National flag, and took the salute at the March-Past. Similarly, the National flags were hoisted at Tehsil headquarters by respective Tehsildars in the district.
