Sham Lal Chowdhery hoists National Flag at Ramban, pays tributes to Martyrs

Center, State government initiatives steering state towards tremendous growth, development

Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary, today unfurled the National Flag here at District Police Lines and took salute at the march past by the participating contingents.Member Legislative Assembly, Neelam Kumar Langeh, District Development Commissioner, Tariq Hussain Ganai, DIG, DKR Range, Basant Rath, SSP, Commandant CRPF 84 besides other officers, prominent citizens, students and locals were present on the occasion.The Minister greeted the people and paid glowing tributes to the soldiers and police personnel martyred while guarding the national borders and fighting the militants.Listing achievements of National Democratic Alliance government under the leadership of Prime Minister, Narinder Modi, the Minister said that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing tremendous growth and development on all fronts with the support and guidance of Center government and state leadership as well. He also recounted the achievements of the nation in science, space, Information Technology Medicine and Defense fields.

While detailing prominent development achievements in the state in general and Ramban in particular, the Minister informed that various schemes and projects are being executed on war footing to gift the people every necessary facility for their socio-economic development. He said that the district has witnessed an unprecedented development during the present regime as the people are getting adequate facilities of drinking water, electricity, roads, railway, education and health infrastructure.The event also witnessed a scintillating cultural programmes featuring informative, patriotic and traditional themes, folk songs, skits on Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao and Scouts & Guides movement etc.

The Minister gave away prizes to the best performers of the cultural programme, besides outstanding students, social activists and employees in recognition to their exemplary services.The contingents of J&K Police, Indian Reserve Police, J& K Home Guards, CRPF, Forest Protection Force, Army Band of Maratha Light Infantry 101 and various government and private schools participated in the march past.Meanwhile, the Republic Day was celebrated at various locations across the district with patriotic zeal and traditional gaiety.
