DDC reviews arrangements for IPPI prog

District Development Commissioner, Sajad Hussain convened a meeting of District Task Force Committee here today to review the arrangements being put in place for first round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) Programme scheduled to be held on January 28, 2018.Threadbare discussion was held on the Micro Action Plan prepared by the Health Department.It was given out 65052 children up to 5 years of age would be administered Anti-polio vaccine for which 340 Immunization centres including mobile teams, have been established in the district.As many as, 1360 employees including vaccinators, ASHA workers and Aganwari workers have been engaged while as 7 transit points and 13 cold chain points identified to make the programme a success. In order to monitor the process, 89 supervisors have been appointed in the district. Moreover, special arrangements have been made to cover all the identified 79 high risk and hard to reach polio booths of Gurez, Bandipora and Hajin medical blocks.Speaking on the occasion, the DDC stressed upon the officers to ensure cent percent coverage of IPPI.Among others, SSP Bandipora, Chief Medical Officer, Deputy CMO and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.In another meeting, the DDC took stock of the National Leprosy Eradication Programme, to be organized from January 30 to February 13. He directed the concerned officers to prepare a comprehensive plan for the ground level survey to make the programme a success.
