Kavinder Gupta stresses on infrastructural development of rural areas

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today emphasised on infrastructural development of rural areas for holistic development of these areas.This was stated by the Speaker on the sidelines of inauguration of upgraded 700 mtr long link road to village Khwaskhan costing Rs 6.25 lakhs executed by PWD (R&B).The Speaker reiterated that government has initiated several projects to improve road connectivity with special focus on rural areas to give a boost to the socio-economic development of the state.“Government is working with a pragmatic approach to redress the core issues of the common masses”, the Speaker maintained.Highlighting various development works, the Speaker said that a comprehensive development plan has been formulated to provide upgraded infrastructural facilities to the people of Gandhi Nagar constituency and sought active participation from the public for implementing the development programs at the ground level.

The Speaker said that upgrading of link road to village Khwaskhan was a long pending demand and further added that adding that more development works will be taken up to meet the aspirations of the local population.He said that road connectivity should be seen in the larger context of socio-economic impact that it brings on the rural economy.Kavinder further stressed on regular quality checks of the roads at both pre and post construction stages to ensure adherence to quality standards.The Speaker also interacted with the locals and gave a patient hearing to the issues and demands put forth by them. Redressing the grievances, the Speaker assured them that all their genuine concerns will be looked into on priority and directed the concerned officers to take adequate measures to mitigate the problems of the people in a time bound manner.Senior political leader, Baldev Baloria, Vinay Gupta, Harbans Choudhary besides senior officers of concerned departments were present on the occasion.
