Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli Saturday said that the Government is committed to provide basic amenities like adequate drinking water, power supply, education infrastructure, health and other civic facilities to the people of all the three regions of the State.The Minister was addressing a public gathering at Government Middle School Panhar in Kalakot here today.The Minister said that the Budget proposals 2018-2019, which was presented in the State Legislature this week has the potential of catapulting the growth indices of the state by ensuring holistic and sustained economic growth.He said that it will ensure that the economy of the state gets the requisite boost and it comes up as one of the most vibrant economies of the country.He termed the budget a people friendly and said that various new proposals including education loan for youths with interest subvention, setting up of rural industrial Estates and exemption of various commodities from toll have been announced by the government.

Referring to the developmental works under execution in the Kalakot Constituency, the Minister said that the construction on various micro and macro projects under different sectors are apace and on completion of these developmental projects people will see a revolutionary change on  ground. He said the present dispensation has started gigantic development all over the State adding that it is our dream to make the Jammu and Kashmir a Model State of the Country and in this regard several measures have been taken and some are in pipe line, he added.Kohli while highlighting the achievements of the present coalition government said that various historical decisions have been taken during last three years which included regularization of casual and daily rated workers, opening of new medical, nursing, degree colleges and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

On the occasion, Local people projected charter  of demands which included construction of protection bunds, repairs and renovation of lanes, drains and inner links, footpaths, providing of adequate staff for all existing Primary Health Centres (PHCs) and up-gradation of educational institutions of Kalakot Constituency. The Minister gave them patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands will be looked into. He, however, in some cases, on the spot instructed the district administration for immediate redressal.Senior Officers of district administration were present on the occasion.
