Former Jammu Kashmir Chief Minister and leader of Opposition in State Legislative Assembly Omar Abdullah Friday advocated the use of cell phones by journalists in the House.““Journalists are using phones for live streaming and other online media. You can’t be so harsh. If they don’t work, members of this House will be started complaining that their proceedings are not being covered,” Omar Abdullah told Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi.Omar Abdullah’s response came after Deputy Speaker Nazir Gurezi asked Marshals to snatch a mobile phone for using it in the House.Don’t use the mobile phones otherwise I won’t allow you with phones in the house,” Gurezi said addressing press gallery. However, the Deputy Speaker was first confronted by NC  legislator Davinder Singh Rana and then Omar Abdullah asked him not to be so harsh towards Journalists.Omar’s remarks were appreciated by Journalists sitting in the galleries who thumped tables prompting junior Abdullah to smile.“I have only banned using phone by reporters for voice calls,” Gurezi clarified.
