First round of IPPI to be held on Jan 28: DDC Kishtwar

District Task Force Committee (DTFC) for Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) programme-2018 under the chairmanship of DDC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana reviewed and discussed the Micro Action Plan, here today.It was given out in the meeting that first round of IPPI shall be held on January 28 while as the second round is scheduled to be held on March 11, 018.As many as, 38,763 children up to the age of five years have been targeted to be immunized in the first round for which 369 IPPI booths have been set up in the district.The meeting was informed that in order to complete the process of immunisation,1549 employees including 1472 booth workers, 266 health workers, 244 teachers, 303 ASHA workers, 659 AWW and volunteers and 74 supervisors are to be engaged for the purpose.  Further 64653 OPV dozes have been arranged for the district.It was also revealed that the training program at block level for health workers, supervisors, teachers, AWW and volunteers will commence from January 15 to January 27, 2018.The DDC urged upon the officers to work with missionary zeal to ensure that no child remains uncovered. He asked for maintenance of proper cleanliness of IPPI centres.Rana said that he is personally monitoring the campaign and asked the concerned officers to work in a coordinated manner to make the drive a success. The participation of anganwari workers, social welfare organisations, ASHA workers, NGOs and other organisations will be ensured”, he added. He also asked the officials concerned to put up posters, drum beatings and utilize the other mass-media such as social media to spread awareness regarding pulse polio round in the district.Among others who participated in the meeting include CMO, Dy. CEO, and District Immunization Officer, BMOs, CDPOs and other officers of concerned departments.
