Vigilance Nabs Asi, Constable For Taking Bribes

State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption nabbed an ASI and Constable red handed while accepting bribe in two different cases.Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said ASI Satnam Singh (No.4/KPT) posted at CIA Kapurthala was nabbed red handed on the complaint of Joginder Kaur of village Nawanpind Bhathe, Kapurthala district for  accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000. The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused ASI was demanding Rs. 25,000 and threatening her to involve in a narcotic case  already registered at PS Kotwali, Kapurthala u/s 15, 61, 85 of NDPS act for recovery of 25 Kg poppy husk. The complainant also informed that the deal has been struck at Rs. 10,000 for the same. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused ASI was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnessesIn another trap case, the VB team nabbed Constable Sukhdev Singh posted as gunman with DSP Jalalabad red handed on the complaint of Kishan Singh of Jalalabad, Fazilka district. The Complainant has informed the VB that the accused constable was demanding Rs. 60,000 to exclude him in drugs related case. The complainant said he had had already paid Rs. 40,000 as a first installment to the accused constable and rest of the money to be paid on December 28, 2017. After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused constable was arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant in the presence of two official witnessesHe informed that cases under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against both the accused at VB police station Jalandhar and Ferozepur respectively and further investigations was under progress.
