DDC convenes SLBC meeting, reviews overall performance of banks, sponsoring agencies

The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara Khalid Jahangir today convened a joint meeting of bankers, sponsoring agencies associated with State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) to review the overall performance of financial institutions, sponsoring agencies of district Kupwara.CPO Kupwara, CAO Kupwara, ASHO Kupwara, CAHO Kupwara, LDM Kupwara, representatives of banks, Viz, PNB, Axis Bank, Gramin Bank, HDFC and other concerned attended the meeting.The chair stressed upon the banks to enhance credit flow to agriculture, horticulture sectors, high-density plantation, animal, sheep husbandry cases and small and medium cases with high positional in the district. It was further decided in the meeting that cases be rejected by the financial institutions when solid reasons are provided to the sponsoring departments. It was impressed upon the banks to advance credit facility to all the sectors, sub-sectors in a balanced manner so that all the sectors of the economy grow in a harmonious manner.

 The meeting also discussed status of cases sponsored by the sponsoring agencies to different banks under Annual Credit Plan 2017-18 economic growth in all sectors by way of advances, loans be provided to educated unemployed youth of the district under PMEGP,KVIB, KVIC, DIC, MSME, IDFC, JLG, DRI, NRLM, Handicrafts, Handloom, Animal and Sheep husbandry, NULM, SEP-1, Housing finance, Up-gradations, promotion of entrepreneurship, land preparation for high-density plantation, KCC, Mudhra, ACC cases be given priority.The District Development Commissioner impressed upon all stakeholders to dispose of all the pending cases in a collaborative fashion with the aim of promoting entrepreneur ability among the youth. He directed the Chief Agriculture Officer and Chief Horticulture Officer for conducting a special drive at a block level to cover the left-out families under KCC loan component in collaboration with concerned Revenue authorities. Financial institutions were called upon to ensure 100% coverage and a target of 20000 families be covered under KCC loan component. Besides, the Chief Horticulture Officer was asked to establish 100 gardens under high-density plantation to provide technical support to new gardeners for preparation of land for plantation during farming season. The concerned bankers and representatives of government departments assured that a work heated effort will be made to achieve the target laid down in annual credit plan.
