Director Rakhs & Farms flags-off 60 growers for training-cum-exposure visit

‘Such events provide opportunity for cultural, social exchange of farmers from different regions’

With an aim to provide exposure to the growers and to make them face with modern trends and technologies in the field of Agriculture, Director Rakhs & Farms, Abdul Rahim Samoon today flagged-off a group of 60 growers representing different districts (Anantnag, Kulgam, Srinagar, Bandipora and Ganderbal) on a nine days inter-state training cum exposure visit to different research institutions of national and international repute.Deputy Director, Farmers Training and Education Centre, Ganderbal Sadaqat Ali was also present on the occasion.Speaking on the occasion, Director Rakhs & Farms said that the tour is conducted with an aim to acquaint growers with a practical demonstration on advanced techniques in Agriculture, cultivation of different crops with respect to the best management of cultural practices, pre and post-harvest management techniques, marketing etc.Samoon urged the farmers to take full advantage of the tour by interacting with the experts and their counterparts from other states to get the latest knowledge and know-how about the innovative techniques in the field of Agriculture. He impressed upon the growers to get themselves well equipped with the skills, knowledge and techniques for boosting the productivity.During the tour, the farmers are proposed to visit National Dairy Institute Karnal, Horticulture Training Institute Uchial, Indian Agriculture Research Institute (Vegetables) Karnal, Wheat Research Institute Karnal, National Board of Soil Survey Karnal, Indo-Israel Centre for vegetable Excellent Centre Gharondha in Haryana and Punjab Agriculture University.The Training Officer Abdul Rashid Waza and Bashir Ahmad Zargar Demonstrator, Farmers Training and Education Centre accompany the growers.
