DC Poonch reviews Gurpurab arrangements

Deputy Commissioner, Tariq Ahmed Zargar convened a joint meeting of officers of various department and members of District Gurdwara Parbandak Committee to review the arrangements for smooth celebration of Gurpurab (Parkash Utsav) of Sri Guru Gobind Singh ji in a meeting held here today.In the meeting, DC was informed that procession of Nagar Kirtan will be taken out on December 23, followed by Gurpurab celebration on December 25.The meeting was attended by ADC Basharat Hussain, SSP Poonch Rajiv Panday, ACR Ashraf Chowdhary, EO Municipality, Xen’s, AEEs and JEs of PHE, PWD besides President DGPC Narinder Singh, Secretary DGPC Rajinder Singh, Anmol Singh (President GMS), Mandhir Singh, Joint Secretary DGPC Surjan Singh.Threadbare discussions were held on important issues including un-interrupted power and water supply, security arrangement during Nagar Kirtan, special drive for sanitation around the Gurdwaras and on the route where procession of Nagar Kirtan will be taken out. Adequate security arrangements besides deployment of medical teams and ambulances during Nagar Kirtan were also discussed during the meeting.

The DC directed the EO municipality to ensure cleanliness on identified religious places and asked the PHE and PDD Department to ensure uninterrupted water and power supply along with additional water tankers at the main venues. Deputy Commissioner asked the Police authorities to provide adequate security arrangements. He called for interdepartmental coordination and impressed upon functionaries of concerned departments to put in place all necessary arrangement well in time for the smooth celebration of the event.
