Reviews functioning of Urban Health Centres, emphasizes quality medicare

Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Kavinder Gupta today convened a meeting of Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) and reviewed the working of various urban health institutions in Gandhi Nagar Constituency.The Speaker, who is Chairman of RKS had detailed deliberation on various issues regarding the functioning of these Centers besides discussing innovative measures to further better the services being extended to the patients in these institutions. He also took stock of up gradation of infrastructure and related works in the centers.Chief Medical Officers, Dr Sanjay Turki and other senior officers of Health and Medical Education Department were present in the meeting.Taking stock of Urban Health Centres functioning in Shastri Nagar, Digiana, Nanak Nagar, Bathindi and Sainik Colony, the Speaker directed the concerned to ensure better healthcare facilities in these institutions so that the ailing may not suffer on this account.During the meeting, the Speaker asked the Public Health Engineering Department to ensure adequate drinking water facilities to all the health centres in the constituency.

The Speaker, while taking stock of achievements made in different units and sections of these Health Centres, stressed upon regular follow up of the works being done for further streamlining of basic medicare for the ailing. He emphasized for ensuring quality services being provided to the people.Expressing satisfaction over the services being extended in the health Centers, the Speaker hoped that the doctors and paramedical staff will continue to render their duties with the same spirit to serve the common masses. He asked hospital managements to ensure that the government welfare programmes in the sector are implemented effectively so that the downtrodden sections of the society get the treatment at par with other citizens.Medical Superintendent, Gandhi Nagar Hospital and Heads of Urban Health Centres raised a number of issues being faced by them in smooth functioning of their hospitals seeking an early redressal to the same.Speaker assured them that every support would be provided to these Centres by the government for further improvement so that people of the area get better medical facilities at their door steps.
