One of the most anticipated sporting events of the year dedicated exclusively to ladies, the ‘Sharjah Ladies Run organised by Sharjah Ladies Club (SLC) is back, and has opened registrations for its 5th editionunder the slogan – Glow with the Flow!  With the options of 5km and 10km race categories, Sharjah Ladies Run will be organised on March 9, 2018 at Sharjah University City, adjacent to Sharjah Library near the Sharjah Center for Astronomy and Space Sciences.Online registrations can be done on their official website www.slc.aeand those interested must book themselves a spot before they all sell out. The three-hour event will be held from 6pm to 9pm in the evening, andladies over 15 years of age are eligible for participation. Registration fee for the 5km event is AED151 and for the 10km event is AED181. A dirham from each participant’s registration fee will be donated by SLC to a charitable cause.“In a day and age where urban living is marked by sedentary lifestyles, it is essential that we make an unfailing effort to have a daily fitness regime. Regular exercise and healthy eating are the only ways in which to ensure we stay away from ailments like heart disease, obesity, diabetes and other non-communicable diseases rampant in the UAE and beyond. Sharjah Ladies Run has brought together thousands of ladiesfrom across the nation for three years, encouraging a spirit of responsibility for one’s own wellbeing and healthy competition among them. 

The event is an annual reminder of how critical it is to be active, fit and involved,” remarked Duaa Al Mahri, Head of Corporate Communicationsat SLC.“The popularity of the Run also comes from the fact that for many ladies participating, the motivating factors are the opportunity to run in a supportive and friendly environment and socialise with other runners,” she added. SLC’s Fitness 180will be holding specialised training sessions for the participants who want to increase their stamina before the Sharjah Ladies Run 2018. They will also hold a one-hour warm-up and briefing session on the day of the run. A variety of post-event entertainment shows and activities have been planned. A Zumba party will be hosted right after awarding the winners of the event, and a raffle draw will be organised.
