Union Minister and Punjab Bharatiya Janata Party president Vijay Sampla today challenged Chief Minister Amrinder Singh to list out at least 9 promises he has fulfilled during his 9 months in office. Sampla was addressing media persons on the completion of Captain’s 9-month-rule. Sampla said, “Capt. Amarinder Singh had made Big Big Pre-Poll promises to farmers, youth, dalits, traders, elderly, women, backward classes, Govt Employees and Urban-Rural voters, the nine major sections of society during Punjab elections. Now he should tell which of those he has fulfilled?” asked Sampla.“Each and every section of the society is feeling betrayed, especially the farmers. This is the reason why 343 farmers have ended their lives since his oath as CM on 16th March. Some even have held Captain’s government responsible for their fate”, he said. The 9 major promises made by Capt. Amarinder Singh- full loan waiver for farmers, ban on Kurki of agricultural land, Ghar-Ghar Rozgar, 2500 unemployment allowance for unemployed, Smartphone, house for homeless dalits, eradicating drug menace within a month, increasing elderly and women pension to 1500 rupees and electricity at the rate of Rs. 5 per unit for the industry- haven’t seen the light of the day. Announcements, meetings and U-Turns is what Captain Amarinder did in its nine month of rule in Punjab, quipped  Sampla.

Demonstrations, Protest Rallies, Suicide, Self Immolation, electricity cuts, road jams, atrocities on women, atrocities on dalits, political vendetta are 9 major achievements of Congress Govt in Punjab.Sampla further said, “Now the CM has released a ‘vision document’ for urban areas. I wonder, if he could not keep the promises he made during Assembly elections, how he will fulfill this vision document? Local bodies’ minister Navjot Singh Siddhu couldn’t even clean up the garbage littered all over Amritsar during the past 9 months. Sewerage lines are choked, streets and roads are dilapidated and people in certain areas of Amritsar are still waiting for resumption of water supply. How will he transform Punjab then?”Sampla urged the people to give befitting reply to congress party's attempt to hijack municipal elections by Civil-Police Goondagardi by voting for Akali-BJP candidates in Amritsar, Jalandhar, Patiala and other 31 local bodies on December 17 and make the combine victorious.“The track of Akali-BJP combine is that of service. During our 10-year-rule we spent 3830.40 crore rupees on development of Amritsar, while the Congress had spent Rs. 149.29 during its previous rule. Similarly, for Jalandhar we spent Rs. 2186 crore while the Congress spent only 196.84 crore. And in Patiala, we spent Rs. 7120.32 crore while the Congress spent Rs. 561.12 crore”, said Sampla.
