Hands over regularization orders to PHE DRWs

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today inaugurated tube well at Potha Kandyal and PHE guest house at Jourian of Akhnoor Constituency. The projects have been completed at a cost of Rs. 42 lakh and Rs. 16.50 lakh respectively.MLA Akhnoor Rajeev Sharma, MLA Khour Dr Krishan Lal Bhagat, Chief Engineers, PHE and Irrigation & Flood Control, Jammu, Executive Director CCDU, besides large number of locals were present on the occasion.The Minister said that with the commissioning of tube well a long pending demand of locals has been fulfilled. He said the tube well would pump out 10, 000 Gallons Per Hour (GPH) and would meet the requirement of water supply to Potha, Kandyal, Chak and adjoinning villages  of the area.   He said that keeping in view the requirement of water in area, the work on installation of   4 more tube wells is going on, of them two are nearing completion.  Calling for maintaining proper sanitation in and around the Water Suplly Scheme and Tube well premises, the Minister said that old machinery and worn-out pipes would be replaced to ensure the proper functioning of WSS. He said that all ongoing schemes in the area would be completed so that people can avail the benefit of these schemes. He asked the Chief Engineer PHE for proper furnishings of newly constructed guest house, Jourian.

Sham Choudhary said that the government has taken up several developmental projects under different sectors, adding that with their completion a new era of development would be witnessed in the area. He said that the government is mulling to start water transportation from Reasi-Hamirpur Sidhar with five stations alongwith approach road at Akhnoor, Jio Pota, Sangrampur, Indripotton and Hamirpur, saying that this would go a long way in providing transportation, besides promote economic and tourism activities in area.Highlighting the developmental initiatives taken by the government for the development of area, Rajeev Sharma announced Rs. 5 lakh for construction of bathing ghat at Jourian. Later, the Minister along with Legislators, Dr.  Krishan Lal Bhagat and Rajeev Sharma handed over regularization orders to 52 Daily Rated Workers (DRW) of PHE Department of Akhnoor and Khour Constituencies at Akhnoor.Complementing the workers of PHE department who got regularization orders, the Minister exhorted upon them to work with dedication in extending their services to people. He said that daily wagers rendering services in different departments would also be regularized and the government is working in this regard.  He said that the government has also enhanced the honorarium of DRWs.
