DGP V.K.Bhawra releases book titled 'Borderline' written by Shabri Prasad

Says 'Boderline' useful addition to literature in Medical Science

V.K. Bhawra, DGP Provisioning and Modernisation, Punjab today released a book titled “Borderline” written by Ms. Shabri Prasad at the Punjab Police Officers Institute, Chandigarh here today.In his address Mr. Bhawra said 'Borderline' is a unique narrative on a mental illness called 'borderline personality disorder' in which the protagonist, the daughter of a Punjab Police officer, suffers from this disorder after the sudden demise of her father. "This book highlights a taboo subject mental illness in a remarkable way through its strong narrative and storyline structure", he said.He further added that this book deals with the internal churning of the mind of a mentally ill patient and how the mind of the patient with help from doctors and therapy and self illumination heals itself. He congratulated the author and said this book would be a useful addition to literature in medical science.Giving details of the book Smt. Gurpreet Kaur Deo IGP Provisioning said the author Shabri Prasad Singh is daughter of late IGP R.C Prasad of Punjab Police. She herself had suffered from borderline personality disorder and through her book she offers great insight and help for others who too may suffer from ailments of the mind.Expressing her views Shabri Prasad said 'Borderline' is the story of hope and recovery from a dark and dangerous disease. Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included  Director Vigilance Bureau Punjab G. Nageswara Rao,  IGP Personnel V. Neerja, IGP Patiala Zone A.S. Rai,, IGP/Crime Shashi P. Dwivedi, AIG welfare Mrs. Harpreet Kaur, AIG-cum-Staff Officer to DGP Arun Saini, AIG/Provisioning Jatinder Singh Khehra were also present.Besides this, former DGPs Punjab K.K. Attari, A.P. Panday, Anil Kaushik and R.P. Joshi were present.
