JKAACL organizes Dogri Literary seminar at Reasi

Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages (JKAACL) organized One Day Dogri literary Seminar and Dogri Mushaira at Govt Higher Secondary School (Boys), Reasi in collaboration with Information and Education department, here today.Chief Education Officer, Bishan Singh Jaral was the Chief Guest on the occasion.Eminent Dogri writer and scholar Prof. Shiv Nirmohi, Principal Govt. Higher Secondary School (Boys), Reasi and Additional Secretary, JKAACL Dr Arvinder Singh Amn were also present on the occasion.Addressing the gathering, CEO Bishan Singh Jaral appreciated the efforts of the JKAACL for organizing Dogri Seminar at Reasi and said that this activity will encourage the students and youth to understand the value of heritage and traditional folk along with the literature being written in District Reasi.He said that Reasi has been in credit of the writers and scholars who have introduced Dogri language not only in State but also at National and International field. He also highlighted the contribution of folk artists of the district for preservation and development of folklore and folk literature and appreciated the participating poets and said that the students will also feel inspired and encouraged being a part of this seminar.

Dr Arvinder Singh Amn said that as per the decisions and directions from Ministry of Culture, JKAACL in collaboration with Education department have scheduled number of cultural activities in all the districts of Jammu region involving students and youth of the respective area.In the paper reading session, those who presented their papers were- Ms Ashu Sharma (Zila Reasi Da Dogri Upanayas-Ik Jayza), Raj Rahi (Zila Reasi Da Dogri Natak -Ik Jayza), Kuldeep Mengi (Zila Reasi Di Dogri Kavita Da Yogdaan) and Ritu Kumar Sharma (Zila Reasi Di Dogri Kahani -Ik Jayza).The Book Exhibition of Academy publications were also exhibited in the premises of the school.Those who recited their poetry in the concluding session were- Babu Bhatti, Braham Saroop, Tariq Bhat, Kuldeep Kumar Mengi, Bansi Lal Kerni, Mohd. Rashid, Kusum Kumari, Mohammad Akram Khan, Dr. Pawan Khajuria, Puran Chand, Pankaj Sharma, Rajesh Dogra, Joginder Singh, Rajesh Kumar, Mohinder Dass, Dharam Paul, Bishan Dass, Deepak Kesar, Javaid Iqbal, Raj Kumari, Dara Singh and Raj Mohammad.
