Pesky power cuts and damaged transmission lines sparked a protest at Ranga Masjid Hawal locality of old Srinagar city on Wednesday.   Locals hit to roads and demanded the damaged power transmission lines should be replaced as according to them it has put the lives at risk. “A few days back, a PDD employee Ghulam Mustafa Wagay had a close shave when a damaged line fell on him,” a local Muhammad Shahid Khan told news agency CNS.

The protesters alleged that due to pesky power cuts, people especially students have been suffering badly. “We get only four hours power supply in a day,” they said.  They demanded that an additional 250 kv transformer should be allotted for the area. (CNS)
