Says construction of bridge, AMK road to be taken up soon

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, Sham Lal Choudhary today conducted an extensive tour of border areas of Suchetgarh Constituency to assess the peoples' problems and to take action for their early redressal.Interacting with the locals at villages Bikrama and Allamai-De- Kothey (AMK), Border out Post (BoP), the Minister said that the government is committed to provide basic facilities to the people especially living in rural and border belts of the state. He said that the government has formulated a comprehensive plan for provision of uninterrupted water and power supply, healthcare and macadamization and blacktopping of borders roads for the convenience of border people. He said that the improved road communication in border areas will also help the security forces deployed at border in carrying out activities for defending the border.

The Minister said that the bridge damaged due to flood at village Bikrama and road connecting to BoPAllamai-de-kothey would be constructed for the convenience of people and BSF, saying that it would provide easy accessibility to farmers to their farms and lessen the distance to BoP.Sham Choudhary said that all the border roads would be blacktopped for the facilitation of locals and Jawans to provide easy accessibility to BoPs so that the jawans posted at these posts can discharge their duties conveniently in safeguarding and protecting the border.  He said that five shallow and one mast hand pump would be installed in area and BoP AMK to provide safe drinking water. He said that more electric poles and transformers would also be provided in the area. He said that the blacktopping of AMK- Kharkola road would also be taken up on priority.Visiting BoP AMK, the Minister interacted with Post in-charge Commandant Amitabh Panwar and got first hand appraisal of present situation along the border and other facilities. 

The Commandant informed the Minister the Battalion has launched the Skill Development Programme to provide training to the youth of the area.  Later, the Minister attended Special outreach programme on agriculture related schemes at Sher-I-Kashmir University of Agriculture Science and Technology (SKUAST-J)- Jammu. The programme was organized by the Directorate of Field Publicity, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (J&K Region) in collaboration with Directorate of Agriculture & Krishi Vigyan Kendra (SKUAST_J) Jammu.The aim for organizing the programme was to sensitize the farmers about the schemes launched for their welfare by the Union Government.
