Secy School Edu reviews status of education schemes in Kashmir

Secretary School Education Farooq Ahmad Shah (IAS) today held a meeting here to review centrally sponsored flagship schemes in the valley.            Director School Education Kashmir Dr G N Itoo, Director RMSA Tufail Matoo, Director SSA Abdul Rashid Var, Joint Directors Joint Secretary BOSE and all the Chief Education Officers were present at the meeting.Secretary School Education directed BOSE officers to expedite the process of distribution of free textbooks in all the districts, especially in far-flung areas. Board officers were asked to complete the distribution of books within three days. Secretary directed the Chief Education officers to complete the preparation well in time regarding the holding of classes through CM’s Super -50 program. All the Chief Education Officers (CEOs) were directed to make necessary arrangements regarding the training of the teachers, to be held during the winter vacations. They were asked to take strict action under rules against the teachers who fail to attend the capacity building programs during winter vacations.Secretary School Education directed all the CEOs to carry out the safety audit of all the school buildings in a time-bound manner. While discussing the issue of up-gradation of schools, Secretary School Education asked the CEOs to submit a comprehensive proposal to the Directorate of School Education on the basis of prescribed feasibility.

CEOs were also directed to take action under rules against the teachers who have shown dismal performance in the present year’s annual 8th class examinations.Secretary directed the officers to send the list of ten thousand students to the Directorate of RMSA who are expected to be sent to other states under student exchange programs. All the officers were given instruction regarding the timely distribution of books in the education melas to be held from the next month in each zone in every district of the valley. All CEOs have been asked to ensure the timely distribution of free school uniforms so that students are able to get new uniform before the opening of schools after winter break.He further directed to ensure that KG classes are started from this session in all the districts. The CEOs were also instructed to prepare an academic calendar which can be put in practice in schools of the valley in the current academic session after winter vacations.Secretary School Education directed all concerned officers to implement all the centrally and State sponsored schemes in letter and spirit. They were asked to expedite the construction works of the school buildings presently going on across Kashmir division.Director School Education Kashmir asked the Chief Education Officers to ensure that all arrangements are in place for starting of winter tutorials and CM’s Super-50 classes. Director Education instructed the field officers to make in advance plans for the next academic session so that the teaching-learning process is carried out hassle-free.Later, Secretary School Education also launched the online MDM program at Government Middle School Kothi Bagh Srinagar. The objective of this online method is to ensure transparency and accountability in the scheme.
