Janata Dal United Monday said that all the stone-throwers should be given amnesty in the interest of peace and security of the State of Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing reporters in Srinagar, Janta Dal United State President G.M.Shaheen said that it will not be enough to release only first time stone-pelters but there is a dire need to release all those youth who are languishing in jails and whose education career is at stake.“Let youth given be a chance, they can prove messengers of peace if given an opportunity. Unfortunately, they are being targeted and harassed. There is a need to go for an effective counselling of incarcerated youth,” he said and appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to do enough for them. He hoped this time Government of India will implement the recommendations of the newly appointed interlocutor Dineshwar Sharma. “Unlike past, this time we have expectations that New Delhi will deliver the goods and will not sideline the Interlocutors report as it did in past,” Shaheen said.
