Efforts on to augment power scenario : Ajay Nanda

Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda today dedicated 63 KVA sub-station worth Rs 4.33 Lakh to the public of Sarma Gonthala (Mari) sanctioned under Constituency Development Fund (CDF).Speaking on the occasion, after dedicating substation to the public of Sarma Gonthala area, the Minister said power augmentation was the long pending demand of local people Mari areas since many years. He said with the installation of this power facility, the people can live comfortable life.The Minister while throwing light on the power infra said that all concerted efforts are afoot to augment power supply in all left out areas of the State irrespective of any factors under existing power supply schemes and Deen Dayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti Yojana.The Minister reaffirmed the commitment of the government to provide all basic amenities to the people of the state and said that requisite steps are underway to augment power and water supply besides better road connectivity and focused attention is given by the present dispensation in this regard.

The Minister also said that present regime is fully conscious of the growing power requirements of the people in line with the current trends and keeping this idea in mind a number of power supply projects in the district Reasi are in the pipeline.The Minister further said that several households have been covered in rural areas under existing schemes and innovative steps are being taken to improve power infra focusing on quality aspect. In this regard, he asked the local people to cooperate with the government to streamline the power distribution system and help in curbing thefts and power losses.He also said several plans and proposals for receiving stations in the Reasi district are under process to augment overall power network. He said tenders under Deen Dayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti Yojana have been floated and very soon vigorous progress under the scheme would be made visible on the ground.
