Youth should learn from experiences of elders : Acharya Devvrat

Governor Acharya Devvrat said the youth should come forward to learn from the experiences and knowledge of their elders to strengthen further the future of the state and nation. He was addressing the senior citizens and the youth at the library established in the complex of old deputy commissioner’s office at Solan, today.He said the society had great expectations from the youth, who could contribute immensely for the progress and prosperity of the nation if their energy was channelized in a constructive manner. He appealed the youth to work hard, live a disciplined life and acquire deep knowledge to face every challenge successfully in their lives.The Governor stressed that in the present materialistic age, it was must that young generation learn from senior citizens as they had come across various phases of life and had experience to tackle different situations. He said the youth should refrain from drugs and concentrate on their education and health. He also urged the senior citizens to share their life experiences with the youth to enable them in understanding various aspects and challenges of life.

He said that directions would be issued to other deputy commissioners of the State to explore possibilities of establishing library, reading room and senior citizens center at one place.He announced to provide a sum of rupees one lakh for purchasing books for the library at Solan. He appreciated the efforts of deputy commissioner Rakesh Kunwar for providing the facility of library, reading room, senior citizens centre and child-care centre in the old DC office complex at Solan.Acharya Devvrat honoured the female wrestler Kumari Rani for her achievements and presented her a cheque of Rs. 51,000 on behalf of State Bank of India. He also distributed cheques amounting to Rs. 2500 each to other female wrestlers Kumari Ruchika, Priya, Nidhi, Radha,Tannu and Soni on this occasion on behalf of the bank.Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kunwar detailed about the facilities provided at the library and other centers.The Governor later visited Khsuh Day Care Centre being run by the Swaran Education Welfare and Awareness Society and interacted with the elderly females.
