A meeting of the Committee on Department Related Standing Committee (DRSC-II) of Jammu and Kashmir, Legislative Council was held under the Chairmanship of MLC, Naresh Kumar Gupta here today.Threadbare discussions were held on various issues, including the overall functioning of Labour and Employment Department and manpower engaged in various developmental projects taken up in the State.Legislators, Sajad Ahmed Kichloo, Mohammad Muzaffar Parrey, Firdous Ahmed Tak and Sham Lal Bhagat attended the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions to make the functioning of the Committee more vibrant and result oriented.Taking serious note of absence of some officers of Labour and Employment Department in today’s meeting, the Chairman of the Committee directed the Council Secretariat to sought reasons from the concerned officers in the first instance.The Committee asked the Secretary Council to sought detailed information about the manpower engaged in all ongoing power projects and other road projects from the concerned Departments so that the committee will scrutinize it.The panel also decided that it will discuss the working of Social Welfare, Rural Development, Tourism and General Administration departments soon.The Committee instructed the Council Secretariat to get detailed working note from these Departments in advance and circulate the same among the Committee Members for their perusal.Senior Officers and officials of Council Secretariat were also attended the meeting.
