DDC reviews progress on PMGSY projects

In order to review the progress under Pradhan Mantri Gram SadakYojana (PMGSY) District Development Commissioner, Ravinder  Kumar chaired a meeting  here today.The meeting was apprised about the physical and financial achievements made under various phases of PMGSY. A total of 326 schemes amounting to Rs 1101. 170 crores have been sanctioned against which an expenditure of Rs. 420.33 crores have been incurred covering 128 schemes till October 2017. Road spreading 935 Kms and 215 habitations also stand connected so far with motorable road in the district under various phases.DDC impressed upon the officers to maintain quality norms and strictly adhere to the time limits. He instructed the officers to monitor the pace of construction on routine basis and take care of existing public utilities so that public does not suffer besides directions were issued to the concerned departments to shift their utilities in time before the start of construction work. DDC also called for the joint inspection to remove the bottlenecks hindering the progress of sanctioned development works.Expressing concern over delay in various works which leads to cost escalation, DDC exhorted upon the concerned departments to work in tandem for timely completion of ongoing projects.Among others, Chief Planning Officers, Ashok Khajuria, SE PMGSY, R K Gandotra, ACR, Subash Dogra, Xen, PMGSY Udhampur, Gian Singh, XenRamnagar, S B Mansotra, AEEs and JEs of PMGSY were present in the meeting.
