Govt earmarks Rs 10.23 cr for Ghatti-Suffain link road : Choudhary Lal Singh

Minister for Forests, Ecology and Environment Choudhary Lal Singh said that Government has initiated endeavours to expand the road network to every nook and corner of the state, with special emphasis on rural and far off areas.The Minister said this while addressing a large gathering after inspecting the ongoing construction works on 25 Km long Ghatti-Suffain road, here today.Speaking on the occasion, the Minister informed that Government has earmarked Rs 10.23 crore under PMGSY for construction of Ghatti-Suffain road, which on completion would benefit the population of Ghatti-Suffain and adjoining areas. He asked the executing agency to gear up their men and machinery for timely completion of the road.Chief Wildlife Warden Manoj Panth, Chief Conservator of Forests, Farooq Gillani, Managing Director SFC Suresh Gupta, Director Social Forestry, Ashwani Kumar Gupta, Director Socil Conservation, Javed Iqbal Punjoo, Director SFRI B M Sharma, Director FPF Asif Mehmood Sagar, Regional Director Wildlife Sinthil Kumar, Regional Director Pollution Control Board Choudhary Showkat Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Basholi Sanjay Gupta, Assistant Commissioner Development Rajiv Khajuria besides other senior officers of R&B, JKPCC, RDD and PDD accompanied the Minister.  

Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stone for Tehsil building at Mahanpur in Basholi, to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.78 crore by JKPCC.Choudhary Lal Singh, addressing the people at Mahanpur, said that Government has released Rs 44.54 lakh for start of the construction work of this building which would comprise of Court room, Retiring room, Mohre Maal, Meeting Room, Patwari room, Judicial section, Record Room, Income certificate section, State subject section and office room of Tehsildar.The Minister directed JKPCC authorities to complete the project within one year.Later, Choudhary Lal Singh visited Madani Dammbra, Mailini and Sabar and kick-started construction work on five roads.Responding to demands of Madaani Dammdra locals, the Minister directed the RDD to immediately install a hand pump in the area so that people do not face any inconvenience.Choudhary Lal also planted Chinar, Fruit and Ornamental saplings along the road of Madaani-Dammbara.Meanwhile, the Minister attended a function on Children's day, the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India Jawahar Lal Nehru, organized in Government High School Sabar in which students of Government and Private Schools of Mahanpur presented colourful cultural bonanza.
