Even after the expiry of two years, the culprits responsible for the killing of Engineering student Gowhar Nazir are still at large while the Inquiry Report filed by a Committee is yet to be made public.Gowhar Nazir Dar, a Computer Science Engineering student at SSM College of Engineering and Technology was killed allegedly by CRPF in Zainakote area in outskirts of Srinagar city on November 07, 2015 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi had just concluded his Kashmir visit during which he announced Rs 80000 economic package for J&K.A magisterial probe was ordered in the youth’s killing; however, its findings are yet to be made public. The family of the deceased youth will mark his second death anniversary on Tuesday. “Government had offered us monetary relief that we didn’t accept. Our only demand is that inquiry report should be made public and Forces personnel responsible for his killing should be booked and prosecuted in civil court,” Nazir Ahmed Dar, the father of slain youth told news agency CNS.Neither justice was delivered nor was the CRPF bunker located in the area removed. He said government even turned down the appeal of local legislator Sheikh Noor Muhammad who had written to J&K Home department, headed by CM, to remove the CRPF camp housed in HMT watch factory. “This bunker is nuisance for the locals living in the area,” Dar added. He said that the then Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Nazir Ahmed Baba was appointed inquiry officer. “We produced 18 witnesses before the inquiry committee who all held CRPF guilty of killing my son,” he said and added that despite this no action was initiated against the guilty CRPF personnel.
