DDC Shopian reviews progress on CM’s commitments

District Development Commissioner Shopian, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today chaired a meeting of district and sectoral officers to review implementation of Chief Minister’s directions which she made during her recent Shopian visit.The District Development Commissioner emphasized upon the officers to work diligently for the early completion of all the commitments and directions of the Chief Minister.He sought a detailed issue wise report of various decisions being taken during the recently held Board meeting and implementation of flagship programmes.On the occasion, threadbare discussions were held regarding the work carried out on the Bijbehara-Shopian road; setting up of a PHE sub division at Wachi; developing playfield at Zainapora; fencing and uninterrupted power supply to local Ziyarat; augmentation of facilities at the health centres at Nadigam, Zawoora Karewa, Kapran and Gatipora; improvement of Kellar-Dunaroo, Shopian-Kellar, Panzgam-Reshipora roads besides development of tourism facilities in the town. The DDC asserted upon the officers to visit Tehsils and listen to public grievances so that same are addressed on priority.The meeting was informed that under District plan 2017-18, more than 81 percent funds have been utilized till date. While reviewing R&B sector, the DDC asked the concerned to ensure proper utilization of allocated funds and ensure completion of the ongoing projects well in time. He stressed on proper monitoring of the projects to ensure quality works and strict adherence to the timelines.

He impressed upon all the officers to make best use of the development season and ensure quality asset creation in the district.  He also impressed upon the officers of Agriculture and allied departments to focus on boosting the rural economy as these sectors have a vast potential that needs to be tapped.He also directed the officers for accelerating the pace of work and emphasized on coordination between the line departments to avoid any delay in the execution of works.
