Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today paid homage to late Pandit Prem Nath Dogra at a remembrance function held here on the late leader’s birth anniversary.The Deputy Chief Minister said Pandit Dogra’s role in the evolution of democratic system in Jammu and Kashmir would always be remembered.He said the late leader played a crucial role in raising awareness on social and political issues of the state and the country as well. Dr Singh said the historic role of the late leader would go in the annals of the history as remarkable as by dint of his handwork he was able to create a niche for himself in the political thinkers of the century. He said that Pandit Dogra played a key role for the uplift of downtrodden and vulnerable sections of the society right from 1947 to 1960s.The Deputy Chief Minister said that late leader’s contributions would continue to inspire future generations to follow his footsteps and lead the society and the State towards progress and development.Vice Chairman SCST Development Board, Balbir Ram Rattan was also present on the occasion.
