Molvi Imran Raza Ansari inaugurates 6.3 MVA receiving station, Sultanpora Water Supply scheme

Also launches North Range Sports festival

Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Imran Raza Ansari today inaugurated 6.3 MVA, 33/11 kv receiving station at Palhallan, Water Supply Scheme at Chaki Sultanpora Pattan, and Range Level Sports Festival at Baramulla.Inaugurating 6.3 MVA, 33/11 kv receiving station at Palhallan was informed that the Station is getting constructed at an estimated cost of 237.51 lakhs under special area development programme (SADP).The Minister was informed that the project will benefit a large population and would also distribute the load and reduce power curtailment in the area.The Minister exhorted upon the PDD officers to ensure repair work of electric poles and power lines in the area is carried out at an earliest so that people during winter do not face any difficulty.Earlier, the Minister inaugurated Water Supply Scheme at Chaki Sultanpora Pattan. He was informed that the scheme with capacity of 0.15 MGD is constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 518 lakhs.The Minister was informed that ten thousand souls will benefit from the scheme.

Speaking to the gathering, the Minister said that it is important to work collectively for welfare and development of the constituency.The Minister also interacted with several local deputations and listened their issues and demands. He assured that their issues and grievances will be redressed in a time bound manner.Later, the Minister also inaugurated Range Level Sports festival at Shaukat Ali Stadium Baramulla. The festival is organised by J&K Police Range Baramulla.Special DGP, V.K Singh, DIG North Kashmir, all district SSP’s NKR, Additional DC Baramulla, Senior officers from Police, Army and CRPF among others were present on the occasion.The sportsmen from all districts of North Kashmir are participating in the festival.The event will include cricket, football, volleyball, kabadi, tug of war, race 200 meters, javelin throw, discuss throw (2kg), short put (4.5kg).Speaking on the occasion, the Minister hailed the efforts of JK Police for organizing such events, which will benefit in overall development of young sports aspirants.Pertinently, the Minister said that the youth of our state has no dearth of talent and they need to use their mind in constructive works. The Minister added that such events are meant to bring out the hidden talent from the youth and can help them to excel in sports career, and can strengthen them physically.The Minister said that government is committed in providing all the sports facilities to the youth in general and sports aspirants in particular.
