Cop killed in militant attack

A police man was killed and two others including an Assistant Sub Inspector were injured after suspected militants attacked a police vehicle in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.Police sources told news agency CNS that a security vehicle that had gone along with the PDP leader Abdul Majid Paddar was on way to Kulgam from Danew Kandimarg when militants fired upon it near Nandmarg. Due to sudden attack, the driver of the vehicle lost control and it turned turtle. “A police constable Khurshid Ahmed was killed while Sub-Inspector Khurshid Ahmed Tak and Constable Ghulam Nabi were wounded,” the official said. The deceased cop hails from Pahlu Kulgam. No militant outfit claimed the responsibility. (CNS)
