MLA Haveli inaugurates LMD Lab

Member legislative Assembly, Shah Mohammad Tantray inaugurated newly constructed standard Lab of Legal Metrology Department, here today.  He thanked & complimented J&K Housing Board & LMD department on behalf of FCS&CA & Information minister Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali for timely completion of project. Deputy commissioner Poonch Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Deputy Controller LMD Manoj Parbakran, executive engineer Ashok Khokar and assistant controller Pushkar Raj, were also present.In his inaugural address, the Legislator hailed Zulfkar Ali for introducing far reaching reforms in FCS& CA department by linking it with technology to enforce transparency, uniformity and accuracy in weights & measures."

The government is committed to create an environment where every citizen should get his due irrespective of region or political affiliations." the MLA added.Tantray, said the reforms would not only enable the department to perform effectively but protect consumer rights & also keep check on unscrupulous trade activities.In his address, DC Poonch said that technology is a key for empowering citizens & enforcing accuracy & accountability.  “To reap the benefits of this fair system we should adopt over selves to the latest technology” he said.Earlier, Assistant controller legal metrology department briefed the gathering about working and benefits associated with standard laboratory in day to day life of every citizen. He informed that the project is completed at a cost of Rs 50 lakh.
