Minister for Information Technology, Technical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Molvi Imran Raza Ansari today said the tragic battle of Karbala teaches sacrifice and perseverance for advancing the cause of truth.The Minister was addressing a congregation organized by Jammu and Kashmir Shia Association to commemorate Ashura (tenth day of Muharram in the Islamic calendar) at Alipora, Botta Kadal in Srinagar.Thousands of devotees attended the congregation to remember sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AS) and his pious companions in the battlefield of Karbala in 680 AD.Ansari said that the tragic event of Karbala immortalized the fact that ultimately truth prevails and falsehood perishes.The Minister laid emphasis on the philosophy of the sacred day and said that sacrifices of Karbala Martyrs highlight the importance of steadfastness and commitment towards righteousness and grit when confronting the forces of darkness and mayhem.Ansari also led a huge procession from Botta Kadal, Lalbazar which culminated at historic Imambara Zadibal, in which thousands of men, women and children participated to pay their tribute to Martyrs of Karbala.Later, Aga Syed Kazim Sabreen led the prayer at Girls High School Zadibal which was attended by thousands of faithful.
