The promising and young singer of Jammu Sargam Sharma emerged winner of the grand finale of Devotional Song Competition which culminated here on the last day of Navratra Festival amidst chanting of Bhajans and beating of drums.Anmol Raja of Hoshiarpur Punjab   and Kabul Bhukhari of Mumbai ended up as first and second runners up among 11 contestants of the final round including 06 from other states and 5 from within the state.Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Ajay Nanda was Chief Guest on the occasion. Former Advisor to Governor Parvez Dewan, noted Bollywood, Media personalities including Managing Director Venus Records and Tapes Ltd. Ganesh Jain, Chairman cum Managing Director Times Music Pravin Shah, Film maker Gordhan Tanwani, Vice President Zee Network Barkha Arora adjudged  the mega final. Bollywood singer Lakhwinder Wadali was special invitee on the occasion who enthralled audience with his one and half hour captivating performance.Minister of State Ajay Nanda, Chief Executive Officer  SMVD Jitender Kumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner Reasi Prasana Ramaswamy G and Deputy Director Tourism Publicity Shokit Malik gave away the prize Gold worth Rs.3 lakh the first prize winner Sargam Sharma from Jammu, Gold worth Rs 1 lakh to 2nd position holder Anmol Raja of Hoshiarpur  and Gold worth Rs. 50,000 to third position holder Kabul Bhukhari from Mumbai.The consolation prizes of  Rs 10,000 each were also given to the  other contestants of the final round.   SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria, Addl.SP Katra Naresh Singh, Sojanya Sharma, Shyam Lal Kesar,Shiv Kumar Sharma,Virender Kesar were also present on the occasion.In his address, Ajay Nanda said that this annual event has gained much popularity over the years and budding singers from across the country get platform to compete with one another. It also opens up opportunity for the renowned personalities across the country to participate in the show thereby giving impetus to the tourism industry, he observed.The CEO SMVD Shrine Board said that the competition has attained new heights and complimented the organizers and thanked all the people and organizations for extending their cooperation in making it a grand success.
