Sushant Deshta, today presented his book 'Sarvodaya An Alternative to Caste-based Reservations', a study in Gandhian perspective to Governor Acharya Devvrat at Raj Bhawan.The writer, who belongs to Shimla district, has examined Gandhian views of Sarvodaya and tried to present the issue of Caste and Caste based Reservations in its historical perspective and the existing situations with the potential threat of reinforcing caste divisions detrimental to the growth of an egalitarian society. The writer has described how Sarvodaya can be effectively implemented as an alternative to the system of Caste based Reservation in order to achieve social justice.The Governor appreciated the work of the writer and hoped that the book would be helpful to students, research scholars, academician and experts in this area.
