Hanjura lays foundation of development works in Chrar-e-Sharief constituency

Provides Rs 50 lakh CDF for construction of girls hostel

Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura today laid foundation stone and inaugurated various developmental projects in Chrar-i-Sharief Constituency.The Minister laid foundation stone of 100-bedded girls hostel at Government Degree College Chrar-i-Sharief. The girls hostel will come up at an estimated cost of Rs 3.15 crore.Hanjura also visited Alamdar Memorial College of Nursing and Medical Technology and announced Rs 50 lakh from his constituency development fund (CDF) for the construction of girls hostel there. He also announced Rs 8 lakh from his CDF for the purchase of an ambulance for the Nursing College. On the occasion, the Minister also interacted with faculty members and students of the College.The Minister also paid obeisance at Chrar-e-Sharief Shrine. He also laid foundation of Gender toilet block to be constructed at an estimated cost of 50 lakh and also laid foundation stone of Rs 1.85 crore Tourist Facilitation Centre near the Chrar-e-Sharief Shrine.Later, Hanjura visited Boys Higher Secondary School Chrar-e-Sharief and inaugurated 8-room additional accommodation block of the School.The Minister said that measures are afoot to make the Chrar-i-Sharief a model Constituency. He said that the second phase of macadamization of roads will be started soon in the Constituency. Further, he said that Science stream will be started at Degree College Chrar-i-Sharief, which is the long pending demand of the local population.During his visit to various areas of the Constituency, a number of public deputations met the Minister and apprised him of various issues confronted by them. The Minister assured that their genuine demands would be looked into and resolved on priority.Vice Chancellor Islamic University of Science and Technology, Prof Mushtaq A Siddiqi, Vice Chairman Muslim Wakf Board, Peer Mohammad Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Haroon Malik and other concerned accompanied the Minister.
